Task twelve: Mess up the shirt.

Task of the day.

I am bored by the doddling, so I dropped some coffee on it.

Is this happened because the watercolour is left untouched for too long?
What is this liquid stuffs from the watercolours?

Surprised by rubbing away the disgusting liquid :-O

Sometimes, something that we dislike about, might give us some good surprise.

I actually like the mess.

So,let's treasure everything happens in life, regardless good or bad.

Task eleven: Re-create those lines?

Luckily I have captured some pages before starting all the tasks.
I wouldn't have the chance to take a clean look of this page, if I didn't do so.
The 'before', long time ago before the previous tasks.

The very different 'before' for the same page:
The 'before', after the previous tasks and ruins. Taken right before current task.

Well, the task wants me to re-create those lines. I thought it should be easy to follow and draw. However, I knew I was wrong at the moment, when I was holding the pen just a few milimeters close to the page.
I looked at the lines carefully and hesitated.
What the hell, how to re-create the same lines?
Okay, I must try.. So, my pen touched the page and started moving.

Alright, it's impossible. (Maybe it's but not for me)
So, I started to doddle (and trying hard to create the same thing but failed).

The repair and the damage.

Further damage on the ruined parts.

Messy production. I created my own lines :S

Task 10: Damage and repair.

Finally, I forced myself to do this again.
It has stayed in the plastic bag for quite some time.

The task.
I was seriously confused by this task. Which image to alter? The image with big dots? Damage? How? What's the definition of damage here? Not destroy. But damage, only. Argh. What the hell.

"All my life I've been good but now
I'm thinking 'what the hell'!
All I want is to mess around
I don't really care about!"

I was listening to Avril's new song 'What the hell' when doing this task. Seriously, what the hell. I was a little fed up by the confusion and the procrastinate attitude of mine (to avoid doing this annoying lack-of-direction task). So, I went to gather up the tools and ingredients, and commanded myself to do it immediately!
Tools.

Ingredients.

Before damaging.

After the violent scartching by scissor.
I didn't know which page to damage, so I damaged both pages.
Since I was already really getting crazy, due to the accumulation of the tense/anxious feeling before starting this task, I decided to ruin it further. Not just little bit of scratching.
Ruined.
Ok, I almost tear them into 2 pieces, but I think again, it doesn't want us to destroy it. So, I stopped there.
(I know I was thinking too much. Can't help. I have to learn to let go and not to be so tense for everything. wth.)
Then, finally came to the part I feel more comfortable with: repair.
Repair could make bad things look good. Makes uglies beautiful again. I have this little attitude from Virgo - perfectionism. Not on everything, but particularly for stuffs I care about only. I can be really messy in life. But seriously, as I said in the first post, I try to control things, which makes me feel so difficult.

Anyway, here I repair the ruined.
I remember there is this line about ruin in Eat Pray Love: Ruined, is the path for transformation.
(So true and so good, comforting me)
The broken.

This is the back page.

The task doesn't require repair for the back page, I did it anyway.
I didn't know how to repair. I did some research on the hints given by this task: Japanese Boro Textiles

Japanese Boro Textile

Japanese Boro Textile

I still don't really get it. I think it's about patching up and covering the holes right?
Argh. Who fucking cares.
So I just do it my way. Cut the images I like and patched them up on the broken parts.

I love Stars. Stars represent hopes in Tarot. :)

Done!
Not too bad after all.
I think it was the first step is hard. Everything becomes so easy after the first step is taken.

Next task, put me into an even-more-clueless situation.
Maybe not too hard after all. Just follow the instinct right.
There is no right or wrong anyway. Not as if in school where I need to pass it up for marking.

Damage/destroy; Repair/rebuild.

I have not done new task since last week. I feel a little bit defeated. I am not willing to start this task. I do not know how.
How to damage?
I do not know how to damage the page.  Tear it? Scratch it? Doodle on it?
Argh. How?
And I actually interpret the job as 'destroying' the page instead of 'damaging'. I do not know why I have this thought. I do not know why I feel so difficult to damage, as hard as destroy something.
I was told that 'destroy is the easiest part. Destroy does not require tactic what.' when I was asking Steven for help :(
Yes, I then think deeply, 'destroying'/'damaging' is supposed to be the easiest compare to 'building'. But, why? Why I feel so helpless?
Aih.

I did some research on Japanese Boro Textiles:

"19th c. Japanese cotton futon cover called “Boro” made from recycled indigo dyed cloth in patches joined together."

"19th century Boro textile."
It is for the repair part, I believe.
But before getting there, I really need to damage the page first. Urgh.

I need to let go.
This was the main purpose I buy this book for, to let go.

Task nine: Destroy and restore with wrinkles.

Finally I am back for this book, after lazing for a while.

I think I have a bad habit.
I easily get bored of something.
For this book, I was really excited at first. I just couldn't wait to start new task everyday. I look forward to the moment for this book every morning I woke up.
However, I think I started to get used to it, I don't feel challenging anymore, or I don't think it could surprised me more. I started to feel unwilling to do it.
I have to change this habit.

Well, cut the craps. Here is the task:

The left page was nicely lying there before the task, except the colours left by the previous task.
Before.

Next minute...
No difficulty. Nearly tear the page while crumbling.

Coloured my fingers.

Before defining the lines.

After colouring the wrinkles.

Now, they are equal.
Now, both page are wrinkled.

OK, I have to feel gratitude.
YAY! I am looking forward to the next task! YAY! I am so happy~ Woohoo! -__-

Task eight: Move it move it.

First of all, I want to share one good news!
My mom finally fully accepted what I'm doing! I think. Just now when we got home, she asked me that: today what have you done? (by flipping my lovely messy book)
Yay! So I showed her what today task was, her reaction? Will let you know in the end of this post...

So let's see the task of the day:

Mixing up the colours :D
Colours of the day.
After this only I realised that it is a traffic light colours. Ops. Haha!

First drop.

I did it on the sink in washroom.
Move around.

I did not only move the book gently, but I shook it up and down, turned it upside down...

Symmetrical?

Unable to shut it up.
The tiny papers that trying to slip out from the book :-O

Owh, what's my mother reaction when I showed her the task of today?

Ta-da!
She said: Cheh, just that little thing. Pretty meh? Why the colours are not obvious?

Wow, she actually thinks that that is not enough! :D

Task seven: Shower it with rain.

The mood was there, the rain was there, so I thought: why not do this task first?
(even it should not be the 7th task, even I have done one task already today.)
One of the aims of the book is to break rules right? I assume yes.

It was raining when I was drawing.
Draw draw draw.

However, the rain stopped for a while in the mid of drawing. So, I waited for the rain in the yard after the drawing. I believe the rain would come back, I think by looking at the sky:
Waiting for the rain.

The sky and rain did not disappoint me :)
Rain on it :D

I let it out for few minutes. Later:
I like it :)

The rain was getting much heavier later. So, I let it out again. I am greedy, I know.I always want more. Hmm..

I am greedy. I put it our again when the rain poured down heavier.

After around 20 seconds (yes, I counted it while I went to get an umbrella! I did not feel good by letting my lovely book and the poor painting exposed to the heavy rain for too long, I worry that I could not even recognise the drawing later :O )

Smudged.

Not too bad after all. I quite love this task:)
I am satisfied today!
